Department of -E- Productions announces the production of the one man play-monologue: "Sex, Drugs, Clinton & Me," at Manhattan's Kraine Theater for a six-week run beginning Tuesday, October 14th at 8:00 PM.
It is written and performed by former Bill Clinton presidential campaign employee and White House volunteer Michael Evans, and is directed by Kimothy Cruse.
The monologue, done in the style of Spalding Gray, intercuts stories from Evans' wild sex- and drug-filled experiences on the first Bill Clinton presidential campaign with scenes of his homelessness and prison time, interwoven with powerful and poignant readings from Evans' deceased mother's diary. It correlates the rush of drugs with the rush of political power.
In 1993, after working in the national Bill Clinton presidential campaign headquarters, Evans, while working as a volunteer in the Old Executive Office Building next to the White House, stole a credential, snuck into the White House, and while there got a volunteer job working in the White House social office before battling drug addiction, homelessness, and prison, before finally getting clean in 2004.
The performances will take place at the Manhattan's Kraine Theater located at 85 East 4th Street between 2nd Avenue and Bowery in New York City. The dates are Tuesdays from October 14th to November 25th. All performances are at 8:00 PM.
Evans has appeared in six Hollywood films, including a major role with Oscar nominee Robert Downey, Jr. in the political documentary "The Last Party." Director Kimothy Cruse associate directed Elizabeth Taylor in "The Little Foxes" on Broadway.
