[Newsreader] Security for next year's Commonwealth Games in Melbourne is under the spotlight after the London attacks. Danielle Parry reports,
[Parry] The Victorian government promises the games next March will be the most secure ever. But the Commonwealth Games minister, Justin Madden, won't reveal how much that security operation will cost.
[Madden] That in itself - if we were to do that - would breach security and indicate the scale and the scope of the security to those who would prefer not to know.
[Parry] The opposition leader, Robert Doyle, isn't convinced and wants a briefing.
[Doyle] I'm not sure that giving some global amount on security tells people exactly what you are doing.
[Parry] The government says it will take expert advice about whether security changes are needed in the wake of the London attacks. Danielle Parry, state parliament.
