Seven Iraqi Soldiers Gunned Down Near Baghdad

Seven Iraqi Army elements tasked with protecting Al-Karkh water pump were killed in Al-Taji [30 km northwest of central Baghdad] when they were attacked by gunmen yesterday [ 26 July]
. In a statement today, the Iraqi Defence Ministry said that some 20 gunmen riding in four vehicles and using hand grenades and light weapons attacked a group of Iraqi Army soldiers and killed seven of them. The statement added that the gunmen retreated following the incident to Baghdad-Mosul road in northern Iraq.Source: BBC Monitoring Newsfile
