“¢ Cassidian Communications provides digital, state-of-the-art P25 radio access
“¢ Comprehensive radio solution provides mission-critical communications to public safety agencies
Frisco, TX (PRWEB) June 27, 2011
Today Cassidian Communications, an EADS North America company, announced that it has finalized a multi-year system and service agreement with the County of Buncombe, North Carolina to provide its CORP25, digital, trunked, simulcast Land Mobile Radio (LMR) system. The agreement provides the County with a complete turnkey P25 radio communications solution including hardware, software, system engineering, installation and maintenance through 2021.
“We are excited to have been selected by Buncombe County for this project,” said Chuck Sackley, vice president and general manager, Cassidian Communications Land Mobile Radio. “The inherent flexibility of our CORP25 system will take the County to the next level of public safety communications in terms of enhanced interoperability, day-to-day operations and the power of true choice.”
100% standards-compliant, CORP25 is the industry’s only true non-proprietary P25 solution. Its completely open design enables full interoperability and supports true choice in both vendors and hardware ““ allowing agencies to select best-in-class components through competitive procurements and ultimately lowering the total cost of network ownership. Flexible and scalable, the IP-based CORP25 also enables simple and efficient network management, as well as cost-effective migration to future applications and services.
“The Cassidian Communications CORP25 system is the right choice for Buncombe County,” says Kim Pruett, director of information technology, Buncombe County. “Given the need for reliable and cost-effective public safety communications, this P25 implementation will allow us to reduce our costs, and at the same time, put the best tools available into the hands of our first responders.”
Located between the Blue Ridge and Smoky Mountains, Buncombe County covers 660 square miles and is home to more than 300,000 people.
