Tehran, 15 August: Dozens of basijis [members of the mobilization force] have formed a human chain around Arak heavy water facilities in protest to the recent position taken by the West concerning Iran's nuclear technology development.
According to ILNA, these basijis, who had walked hundreds of kilometres to reach Arak, formed a human chain around the installations from 1100 [0630 gmt] until 1600 [1130 gmt].
The protesters, who were reportedly one hundred, have said that their objective has been to express Iranian people's opposition to the position adopted by the West and the IAEA Board of Governors concerning Iran's peaceful nuclear programme, to support Iran's recent strong position concerning negotiations with Europe and to stress that during their diplomatic discussions, state officials should safeguard Iran's technological achievements.
It is noteworthy that a similar human chain will be formed around Esfahan's Uranium Conversion Facilities (UCF) tomorrow.
