Sheehan to Leave Crawford, Texas

Iraq war protester Cindy Sheehan said Thursday she will leave Crawford, Texas, to be with her mother, who has suffered a stroke in Los Angeles.
Sheehan, whose son Casey was killed in Iraq, has been in Texas since Aug. 6, demanding a meeting with President Bush. She has said she will stay there as long as Bush remains there on vacation -- or until the president meets with her to explain to her why her son was killed.
Sheehan said she and her sister, Dede Miller, will travel to Los Angeles to be with their mother, 74-year-old Shirley Miller.
If I can, I'll be back, Sheehan told reporters in Crawford. If I can't I wont be back -- but I will be back as soon as possible.
CNN reported Shirley Miller's condition was not believed to be life-threatening.
Sheehan said other Gold Star Mothers -- women whose children were killed in Iraq fighting -- will remain at what has come to be called Camp Casey.
They'll continue the mission while we're gone, she said.
Sheehan's encampment is moving to a location closer to the Bush ranch over the next few days, on property owned by Bush neighbor Fred Mattlage.
