The Defence Ministry has confirmed that the ARM [Army of the Republic of Macedonia] intends to deploy 10 officers and noncommissioned officers in Iraq to train Iraqi security forces. NATO leads the Iraqi troops' training mission.

Senior Defence Ministry sources have confirmed that a resolution on ARM servicemen's deployment in a new mission will soon be proposed to the Assembly.

As early as February, the government expressed the readiness to join the mission with assistance and training teams. The technical arrangements for the mission are under way, Defence Ministry spokeswoman Biljana Avramovska has said.
