In the first reaction to US Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice's statements in London in which she said that the supporters of the constitution had won, Salih al-Mutlaq, spokesman for the National Dialogue Council, warned against rigging the results to peddle the constitution. He noted that this would have an impact on Iraq's security and stability.
[Al-Mutlaq - recording] We warn of the dangers of rigging the results and peddling the constitution by force. For, this would generate reactions that cannot be controlled, including civil disobedience. We do not want this to happen, because we are concerned about the unity, safety and security of our country and people.
