Cheney to visit Kuwait to pay respects after emir’s death
SHANNON (Reuters) – U.S. Vice President Dick Cheney will
visit Kuwait on Tuesday to offer condolences after the death of
its ruler Sheikh Jaber al-Ahmad al-Sabah, a spokeswoman said.
Cheney is already en route to the Middle East for
previously scheduled visits to Egypt and Saudi Arabia.
Sheikh Jaber died Sunday at 78.
Cheney, who arrives in Cairo later on Monday, will visit
Kuwait on Tuesday evening following meetings with Egyptian
President Hosni Mubarak and Saudi Arabia’s King Abdullah, said
Cheney spokeswoman Lea Anne McBride.
