Council Has Final Check on Vote List

FAMILIES across Dudley are urged to take action now to avoid losing their vote in May.
Last year Dudley Council wrote to all borough households to find out those eligible to vote at each address. This information was used to compile the electoral register.
To ensure this information is accurate, the council is carrying out a final check.
Letters will be arriving on people's doorsteps from this week detailing those people who are eligible to vote at the address.
It will state whether they have nominated to vote by proxy or by post and gives the location of their polling station on election day.
If changes need to be made residents can call the council on 01384 812345 or visit www.dudley.gov.uk and amendments will be made to the electoral register from which poll cards are issued. Closing date for amendments is March 13 2006.
Alison Mason, acting head of electoral services, said: "We are extremely keen to ensure our records are up to date for May. I would urge anyone who does not appear on the list to contact us."
