Maryland's International Business Leadership Awards are presented annually to business champions from Maryland companies who have led their firms to new global heights. Each international business leader is awarded for exemplifying the entrepreneurial spirit, determination, creativity and cultural sensitivity that the global marketplace demands. Of Maryland's 150,000 firms, Telenor Satellite Services is one of seven being recognized as Maryland's exemplary International Leadership Award winners for 2006. These winners were interviewed and selected by the WTCI's Leadership Awards Review Committee, made of public and private sector businesspeople.
"Your solid business accomplishments and strong growth record make Telenor Satellite Services a terrific model for other Maryland firms on the global horizon," noted Deborah M. Kielty, president and executive director of the World Trade Center Institute.
"Only four years after we closed the Telenor Satellite Services acquisition of COMSAT Mobile Communications here in the US, I am extremely proud both personally and on behalf of the company to have been recognized with this award," said Britt Carina Horncastle, president of Telenor Satellite Services Inc. Holdings. "Considering the many very competent companies established around the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area and throughout the state of Maryland, it is an honor to be nominated and selected. We are all very grateful for this recognition and we will continue do our utmost to maintain service to our customers and future users of our satellite communication services at the highest quality and support possible."
The award ceremony will take place on March 30, 2006 at the Jim Rouse Visionary Center in Baltimore, Maryland.
