N.Korea should return to nuclear talks: Hill
April 10, 2006
TOKYO (Reuters) – North Korea should return to six-party
talks over its nuclear arms program without preconditions,
Washington’s chief envoy to the talks said on Monday.
Assistant Secretary of State Christopher Hill also told
reporters after arriving in Tokyo that he had no plans at the
moment to meet North Korea’s envoy.
Speculation had been growing that Hill and North Korea’s
chief delegate, Kim Kye-gwan, would meet on the sidelines of a
private security forum in Tokyo and manage to create the
momentum for a resumption of the six-way talks, which are aimed
at preventing a nuclear crisis on the Korean peninsula.
