VIENNA (Reuters) – The United States remains committed to a
successful global trade round at the World Trade Organization,
President George W. Bush said on Wednesday after discussing
U.S. differences with Europe over the negotiations.

“The point is we are committed to a successful round and it
is going to take hard work,” Bush told a news conference after
meeting European leaders.

The United States and the European Union are at loggerheads
over who needs to make the next move on agriculture in order to
unlock stalled negotiations for a global trade deal at the
World Trade Organization.

European Commission President Jose Manuel Barroso, speaking
at the same news conference, said he was convinced the round
could be concluded successfully.
