Gore Does Not Rule Out 2nd White House Run

September 10, 2006

Former U.S. Vice President Al Gore said in Australia he may make a second run for the White House, but it was unlikely, a report says.

I haven’t completely ruled out running for president again in the future, but I don’t expect to, Gore said before the Australian premiere of An Inconvenient Truth, his documentary about global warming.

He said he was going through an internal shifting of gears in his life.

Gore, 58, who lost the White House to President Bush in 2000 in disputed circumstances, also said Australia was more susceptible to global warming than most countries, due to its largely dry climate, the Australian Broadcasting Corp. reported.

He also criticized Australia and the United States for being the only two developed nations not to sign the Kyoto Protocol to cut carbon emissions.
