US Governor to Visit Sudan’s Troubled Darfur

The governor of New Mexico State, USA, Bill Richardson, will today arrive in Sudan for a two-day visit.
During his visit, the US official will meet Sudanese President Umar Hasan al-Bashir and officials from the foreign ministry. He will also visit Southern Darfur and Northern Darfur states.
The foreign ministry expressed hope that the governor’s visit will correct the US Congress’ image of Darfur.
