Comic-Con crowd to preview ‘Spartacus’
The cast and creators of
Spartacus: Blood and Sand are to discuss their new television series at Comic-Con in San Diego, Calif., Starz said.
Scheduled to participate in a panel talk Friday afternoon are actresses Lucy Lawless and Erin Cummings, actor Peter Mensah, and executive producers Rob Tapert and Steven S. DeKnight. The team is expected to discuss their new take on the ancient legend and preview exclusive footage of the series.Andy Whitfield, who plays the title character, also is set to deliver a video message and Comic-Con greeting from New Zealand.
'Spartacus: Blood and Sand' is the most ambitious project ever undertaken at Starz, Bill Hamm -- executive vice president, originals production and development for Starz Media -- said in a statement.
Comic-Con offers a terrific stage to introduce the series to fans and we are delighted to have such a strong lineup for our debut appearance in San Diego.

The show is slated to debut on the network in January.
