Slick Hits Hols Isle
July 14, 2007
THREE popular beaches on the holiday island of Ibiza were closed yesterday after they were hit by an oil slick.
The beaches at Talamanca, Ses Figueretas and Playa d’en Bossa were shut as emergency crews worked to clear the oil.
The three-and-a-half-mile long slick leaked out when a merchant ship, the Don Pedro, sank on Wednesday.
Environmental crews have travelled from all over Spain to clean up the spill.
