Young visitors enjoy sport trip

CHILDREN from Chernobyl have enjoyed some special Hambleton hospitality.

A group of youngsters staying in the district spent time at Stokesley leisure centre with coaches Jemma Donne and Jordon O’Hara, enjoying gymnastics and trampolining. They were staying with host families as part of a visit organised by the Northallerton branch of the Friends of Chernobyl’s Children charity. The youngsters are from Belarussian orphanages or disadvantaged homes and it’s planned the trips to the centre will become a regular part of their holiday to Hambleton.
