AN ESSEX beach was evacuated after workmen unearthed a toxic chemical thought to be coming from a Second World War bomb. Army bomb disposal experts were called after workmen excavating flood defences in Shoeburyness yesterday unearthed a substance that caught fire when it came into contact with the air.
