MU Names New Director of Research Nonprofit
HUNTINGTON – Marshall University has named the director of a nonprofit devoted to fostering the chemical industry in the Kanawha Valley to head its Research Corp., the school announced Thursday.
John Maher, who heads the Chemical Alliance Zone, will take over as vice president for research on Sept. 1, according to a Marshall release.
Maher, a Charleston resident, replaces Howard Aulick, who is retiring.
“We want to make the Research Corporation a leading service organization for the university,” Maher said in a prepared statement. “Many significant opportunities are on the horizon for Marshall, and we at the Research Corporation will be working to make those opportunities a reality.”
MU’s Reseach Corp. is a nonprofit organization that serves the university, mainly by organizing administrative and financial support for funded projects.
