A WARWICKSHIRE woman has raked in pounds 100 worth of garden centre vouchers from a composting competition.

Joy Mills, of Lillington Road, Leamington, won Warwickshire’s Recycle Now Home Composting competition after ordering a recycling bin during Compost Awareness Week in May.

Mrs Mills said: “I needed a new compost bin when I moved into the new house as it’s such a useful thing to have.

“I’m really pleased to have won the gardening vouchers as it’ll give me the opportunity to fill the spaces in the borders with some new plants.”

The vouchers were handed to Mrs Mills by Warwickshire County Council’s composting expert Laura Vesty.

Councillor Martin Heatley, chairman of Warwickshire Waste Partnership, said: “Mrs Mills is now able to recycle around one third of her household waste by home composting, helping to achieve the council’s goal of diverting waste away from landfill.”
