BOISE, Idaho, Sept. 12 /PRNewswire/ -- Southfork Landing, Inc. ("SFL"), Idaho's newest outdoor adventure residential community and Idaho Angler ("IA"), Southwest Idaho's premier fly fishing outfitter, have announced their collaboration on a fly fishing pro shop with fly fishing school on the Southfork Landing development located in Garden Valley, Idaho. Additionally, IA and Cascade Raft and Kayak will provide guided fly fishing float trips on nearby rivers from their SFL location. As a part of the agreement, IA would participate in and operate a pro shop complete with instructors and guides on Southfork Landing subject to approval by the appropriate governing agencies.
According to industry trade groups, in recent years there has been a significant increase in the outdoor recreation market for fly fishing and other river recreational activities. This has led to increased emphasis on restoration of fishing habitat and enhancement of native trout species. A recent decision to collaborate with Trout Unlimited's Ted Trueblood Chapter on a habitat restoration project at SFL, coupled with the partnership with IA, will not only provide a significant outdoor activity at SFL, but will also promote this important work for the future of trout fishing in Southwestern Idaho.
Steve Laney, a Managing Partner for SFL said, "We are thrilled to be working with such a high-quality operator as the Idaho Angler team; we expect that, pending approval, there will be customers from Idaho, other states, and internationally, who recognize the significance of adding this amenity to our fabulous development. Southfork Landing continues to assemble the 'A-Team' of recreational partners to provide the best family and outdoor experience in Idaho."
Rick Williams, partner of IA commented, "We have been exploring a number of alternatives for expanding our fly fishing operations during the last year. Southfork Landing is a perfect location to use our decades of experience to develop a pro shop and one of a kind fly fishing school. The combination of incredible on-site fly fishing ponds and streams and some of the best natural fly fishing habitat in the region make a fantastic combination."
The plan would feature an IA pro shop that will include top of the line fly fishing gear, fly tying instruction, and fly fishing lessons on SFL's private trout streams and ponds. The Plan also includes guided fishing trips to some of Idaho's best fly fishing lakes and rivers. IA will work with Southfork Landing and Trout Unlimited to ensure that the on-site streams and ponds will have the best trout habitat possible. Idaho Angler's experienced team includes Rick Williams, southwest Idaho's only certified Master and Spey Casting Instructor, who also has a PhD in Fish Genetics and is a published author on fish conservation and salmon recovery; Tim Mansell, a master fly tier and certified casting instructor who has developed many local fly patterns; and other certified casting instructors with years of teaching experience.
Southfork Landing, Inc., a joint development of Oaas Laney and Dynamis Group, is developing an exquisite 606 unit conservation-oriented planned community with 2 miles of private trout streams, 40 acres of lakes and ponds along 4 miles of the South Fork of the Payette River in Garden Valley, Idaho. In contrast to many real estate developments in Southwest Idaho, it has recently had a sellout of its first release of lots. SFL expects its next release to take place in late October.
The Idaho Angler, Southwest Idaho's premier fly fishing outfitter, has been providing top quality fishing gear, instruction and advice to fly fishers through its experienced and highly trained staff since 1993. Classes for beginning fly fishers and clinics on advanced techniques are taught year around by instructors certified by the Federation of Fly Fishers international program. In addition, guiding services are offered, provided by highly skilled licensed guides. Idaho Angler's mission is to enhance the fly fishing experience of friends and customers, to bring fly fishing fun to everyone, and to promote conservation of our fish and fishing waters.
