The Linde Group Acquires Swiss Plant Engineering and Construction Company Bertrams Heatec

Munich, 14 September 2007 - The technology company The Linde Group has bought the Swiss plant engineering and construction company Bertrams Heatec AG. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
Bertrams Heatec AG , headquartered in Pratteln (near Basel), Switzerland, is a leading specialist in the construction of systems for the safe transfer of process heat, mainly for the chemical and petrochemical industries. These systems are used for the manufacture of artificial fibres, synthetic resins (melamine), aluminium oxide and dyestuffs, together with applications in the textile and food industries as well as solar power plants. In fiscal year 2006, the company employed 35 employees and had sales of approx. EUR 15 million. Linde will operate Bertrams Heatec as a wholly-owned subsidiary.
"This acquisition will enable use to open up new business opportunities in the heat transfer system segment," explained Dr. Aldo Belloni, member of the Executive Board of the Linde AG. "We also see a huge growth potential here especially for solar power plants."
The closing of the transaction is subject to regulatory approval and customary conditions.
