Stolen Workforce Services Laptop Has Thousands of Personal Files
By The Salt Lake Tribune
Sep. 25–A laptop stolen from the Department of Workforce Services reportedly contains thousands of files containing client’s personal information.
KUTV reports that date from some 2,000 people receiving DWS services are on the computer — including Social Security numbers.
However, DWS officials say those records are protected by a unique password, so they hope the information remains safe from prying eyes.
KUTV says DWS is reviewing its computer use and security policies with all employees.
