Composting Master to Visit Bar Harbor

BAR HARBOR – Composting master Roland Ulrich will offer his expertise to the Mount Desert Island community Oct. 26-28 at College of the Atlantic and the college’s Beech Hill Farm.

At 7 p.m. Friday, Oct. 26, Ulrich will present a talk on biodynamic composting in the college’s McCormick Lecture Hall.

From 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 27, Beech Hill Farm in Mount Desert will hold a composting workshop, and from 9 a.m. to noon Sunday, the workshop moves back to the COA campus community gardens. Bring a bag lunch, personal drinking water, pitchfork or rake, and wear comfortable work clothes and shoes.

The cost of the lecture is $5, which is included in the fee for those attending either of the workshops. Saturday’s workshop is $15; Sunday’s is $10. For information or to reserve a place, contact Rebecca Wentworth at 542-8519.
