(PRWEB) September 27, 2011
This science website is divided into four major categories, i.e., Science Research, Science Websites, Science Reviews and Science Insights.
The Science Insights category provides information, insights and definitions about specific subjects in the life and earth sciences. It currently includes 47 topics ranging from “Historic and current aspects of RoundUp” to those of “The bacteria KPC (Klebsiella Pneumoniae Carbapenemases)”.
Among these subjects is one insight into the Durian tree (Durio sp.) which has received considerable traffic through major Internet search engines. This article primarily covers agronomic aspects of Durian cultivation including irrigation, fertilization and recommended protection practices against major pests and diseases. Since scientific classification of Durians has still not been established, the review includes taxonomic details of Durian species. It also covers attempts to isolate volatile compounds which are reason for the unique odor of Durian fruits which are so popular (“king of fruits”) in Southeast Asia.
