Cairo, Egypt (PRWEB) December 06, 2011

There was a touch of chaos at the Cairo American College Book Fair on Sunday, December 4.

Before the event begun, young readers lined up outside, anxious to meet one of their favorite authors: Eden Unger Bowditch, whose The Atomic Weight of Secrets or The Arrival of the Mysterious Men in Black has become a huge hit in Egyptian schools.

“I was stuck in traffic and got there late, and it was mayhem!” said Bowditch afterwards. “Kids were waiting a half hour before the fair even opened!”

The Atomic Weight of Secrets is the first book of Bowditch’s middle grade Young Inventors Guild trilogy, about five international genius children in 1903 who are taken from their lives and homes by the mysterious men in black. The adventure about the magic not of wands and wizardry, but of science, has resonated with young Cairo readers.

“I spoke to about eighty kids in the seventh grade,” said Bowditch. “These are kids from all over the world.”

In the end, there’s no understating what the event meant to the children who attended. “I have changed my point of view on everything,” wrote one young reader. “I feel like you opened my eyes to looking at things differently and not just looking at the obvious in life.

“I am so grateful that I had the opportunity to listen to someone like you.”

The Atomic Weight of Secrets or The Arrival of the Mysterious Men in Black is available through leading indie publisher Bancroft Press, retailers like Amazon and Barnes & Noble, eBookstores around the world, and wherever books are sold.

Baltimore-based Bancroft Press is an award-winning small press publishing some of the very best independent fiction and nonfiction.
