TZMI Announces Ownership Consolidation for Independent Physical Process Separation Facility

February 10, 2012

TZ Minerals International (TZMI) is pleased to announce that as of June 2012 it will be increasing its shareholding of Allied Mineral Laboratories (AML) from 50 per cent to 100 per cent following a restructure of the shareholder agreement with the other majority shareholder Allied Mineral Services (AMS).

(PRWEB) February 10, 2012

TZ Minerals International (TZMI) is pleased to announce that as of June 2012 it will be increasing its shareholding of Allied Mineral Laboratories (AML) from 50 per cent to 100 per cent following a restructure of the shareholder agreement with the other majority shareholder Allied Mineral Services (AMS).

As of now, AML is under the management control of TZMI, but will continue to operate as a distinct and independent business.

Allied Mineral Laboratories was formed in 2007 to continue the operation of Outotec´s former physical testwork laboratory in Kewdale, Western Australia with TZMI and AMS as 50 per cent shareholders.

The combination of AMS´ John Bunter and Max McGarvie, along with Steve Gilman and others at TZMI provided a highly experienced team to lead this new company. John, Max and Steve had previously worked together on several occasions including at Allied Eneabba (one of the precursors to Iluka) from the mid 1970s.

During the years, AML has experienced rapid growth, starting with four employees and a focus on mineral sands. However, the iron ore boom, incorporating magnetite deposits, and the buoyant mineral sands market soon had AML´s services in high demand. AML has maintained this level of activity with growth expected to continue.

TZMI managing director Philip Murphy says, “The restructure of ownership has been highly positive, amicable and in the best interests of AML. The TZMI board thanks John Bunter and Max McGarvie for their continuous efforts and contributions over the years which have enabled AML to become what it is today. TZMI is pleased to take this new step and looking forward to many positive developments.”

“TZMI sees a natural fit between our expert operational and technical consulting services to the titanium and zircon industry and the value-added service provided by AML through its highly educated and independent practical experience in testwork and flowsheet development.”

Under the restructure, John Bunter will continue to be a director at AML and remain engaged in a technical expert capacity. Max McGarvie will remain as a director at AML until June and then focus his attention on Allied Mineral Services and other endeavours. TZMI will have full ownership, however, AML will continue to operate as an independent business.

About Allied Mineral Laboratories

Allied Mineral Laboratories (AML) is an independent physical process separation facility located in Perth, Western Australia and operating since 2007.

AML specialises in testwork and flowsheet development using physical separation processes, and although traditionally has been mineral sands orientated, strong capability and access to a wide range of physical separation equipment enable test programmes to be completed for other feed types, including iron ore, garnet deposits, wolframite and tantalite.

AML is capable of full resource assessment starting with bulk run-of-mine samples through to saleable finished product. A large array of equipment provides the flexibility to trial a range of alternative processing flowsheets for any sample. AML´s expertise also enables being able to undertake small scale testwork assessing separation characteristics and equipment efficiency using a selection of equipment and feed types.

AML specialises in adding value to a project by providing up to date thinking in flowsheet design supported by practical experience in the application of the technology.
