PMD Healthcare is Conducting a Spiro PD Giveaway for World Asthma Day

April 21, 2012

Five Spiro PD personal spirometers will be given away to registered participants in recongnition of World Asthma Day on May 1st, 2012. An estimated 25 million Americans are living with Asthma, including nearly 7 million children.

Allentown, Pennsylvania (PRWEB) April 21, 2012

Patients with asthma and other lung diseases are now able to monitor their own lung function between doctor appointments. Spiro PD is an FDA approved, personal spirometer that can be used at home, work, school or while traveling. Patients no longer need to guess how bad their asthma, COPD or other lung disease is. They can test themselves and see the severity level of their condition and upload or print out the test results and send them, or take them, to their doctor. The device stores their results so they can see the trending of their condition and see if they need any changes to their asthma/wellness action plan.

“I am thrilled to be able to increase asthma awareness and monitoring care by giving away Spiro PD personal spirometers. Regular monitoring of a patient’s lung function can help to decrease asthma attacks and keep people out of emergency rooms.” said Wayne Meng, President and CEO of PMD Healthcare. Annually, asthma accounts for approximately 500,000 hospitalizations, 10 million missed work days and 13 million missed school days.

To participate in the giveaway, and learn some great asthma tips, readers can submit their favorite asthma tip to Spiro PD’s facebook page, http://www.facebook.com/spiropd or go to http://www.spiropd.com before April 30th for more information.
