Big Story Weather from June 1-3: Friday was very active as we saw tornadoes in the Dakota´s along with the Mid-Atlantic region including the BWI airport. On Saturday tornadoes were reported in Eastern Colorado. Tornadoes were also reported in North Dakota and Arkansas on Sunday.
Big Story Weather Outlook for June 4: Look for some isolated thunderstorms along the Eastern Seaboard today. High pressure will begin to build in over the Northern Plains bringing partly cloudy skies to the region. Out West we are watching the next potent weather system moving onshore today which is bringing rain to the coast. Over the next 24 hours we will also see snowfall start to occur in the higher elevations.
Big Story Weather Tropics: This morning in the tropics we are watching Typhoon Mawar as it continues to track towards the Northeast. Forecasts have it turning just to the southeast of Okinawa Japan with estimated winds around 95kts and a pressure of 952mb. Also to the south of Mawar there is system 97W which currently has estimated winds of 15kts and a pressure near 1010mb.
