Orthopaedic and Spine Institute Medical Centers Announces the Formation of a Charitable Fund for Christian-based Charities

OSI Medical Centers Founder and President, Dr. Steven J. Cyr, M.D., FAAOS announced that the Company Will Continue to Make a Commitment to Christian-based charities across the globe through the formation of a family foundation, dedicated to giving to others.

Doctor Steven J. Cyr, M.D., FAAOS, who founded the Orthopaedic and Spine Institute Medical Centers (OSI) in 2005, announced this week that they had formed “The Steven & Le Ann Cyr Family Charitable Fund     - in association with The San Antonio Area Foundation in order to distribute money to Christian-based organizations and charities. The recently created fund will allow Dr. Cyr and his wife, Mrs. Le Ann M. Cyr to structure their giving in a way that maximizes their desires to give back, and to focus on Christian-based organizations and charities.

The San Antonio Area Foundation (SAAF) is a registered 501c3 and has been in the business of directing gifts, scholarships, directed giving and grants for over 47 years in the San Antonio, Texas area. SAAF is a professionally managed charitable organization organized around helping others channel their gifts and manage endowments for future generations. SAAF boasts more than 120 volunteers who donate their time and expertise by serving on the Board of Directors, Steering Committees, and /or Community Advisory Committees. The volunteers come from a variety of professions including business, education, military, civic leadership, and medical.

Fund management has been established through Gonzales Group Certified Public Accountants, located in San Antonio, Texas. Norbert Gonzales, Jr., CPA, JD said, “we’re delighted to assist our friends and clients, the Cyr’s, direct funds to worthy causes through the San Antonio Area Foundation for the greater good.”

The fund will continue to have the ability to give to the United Services Organization, the Wounded Warrior Program, Upward Transitions Therapeutic Horsemanship, Currey Creek Baptist Church, Kinetic Kids, PressingOnTX, Women’s Prayer International, Hill Country Daily Bread, Haven for Hope, Susan Komen Breast Cancer, Medsend, to education, many other charities and youth organizations as a way to give back to the community and to the greater good of all mankind.
