Walleye is currently taking orders for security applications in Public Safety, Corrections, Intelligence and Homeland Security.
Lincoln, Mass. (PRWEB) October 01, 2012
Walleye Technologies announced today that the company has entered into initial production, and is taking orders for the Model 24S Surface Penetrating Imager. The Walleye imaging system is the first handheld, active millimeter wave imager to be offered commercially. It is capable of penetrating opaque material and presenting the image of hidden objects to the operator on an LCD screen. The battery-powered instrument uses harmless non-ionizing millimeter wave (less than 1/1000th that of a cell phone) to see into and through opaque surfaces, exposing hidden objects concealed behind cloth, wood, wallboard, cinder block and some composite coverings.
The Walleye Surface Penetrating Imager has applications key to corrections and homeland security operations. The 24S provides a non-destructive, non-contact solution for screening upholstery in vehicles, mattresses and clothing in prison cells. It is also suitable for screening personnel to clear alarms produced by traditional security equipment such as magnetometers, millimeter wave and X-Ray portals.
“This new product places powerful new scanning capabilities directly in the hands of security professionals at a price that is a fraction of the cost of stationary portal solutions and X-ray systems.” says Chris Adams, CEO of Walleye Technologies. The 24S imager can be taken to the point of use, opening up a range of applications for field use where imaging capabilities were not previously available. It is a cost-effective, flexible, light weight and easy to use solution. Operators can hold in one hand imaging technology previously only available to security professionals using high priced portals and fixed scanning devices. .
