Portland, Ore. (PRWEB) January 04, 2013

A Portland project manager recently earned the prestigious CAPM® (Certified Associate in Project Management) credential, issued by the Project Management Institute (PMI). Lena Ramos earned the credential through Cheetah Learning, an award-winning provider of global education and training for project managers and the winner of the 2008 Professional Development Provider of the Year award from PMI.

“Earning my CAPM marks a major step forward in my career development and my career prospects,” said Ramos. “With so much at stake, I wanted to make sure I could get it right the first time but didn´t want to spend four months or more to prepare. When I learned about the online three-week accelerated CAPM exam prep at Cheetah Learning and its high pass rate, I knew that was the way to go.”

According to the Project Management Institute, the CAPM credential is a globally recognized standard that recognizes demonstrated knowledge and skill in participating in project teams and in delivering project results within the constraints of schedule, budget and resources. Candidates seeking certification as Certified Associate in Project Management must meet a benchmark for education and pass a rigorous 150-question, three-hour test.

“I was most impressed with how comprehensive the Cheetah Learning approach was, from advice on lifestyle changes (diet and exercise), to tools and techniques that helped me retain information quickly and easily using their proprietary accelerated learning techniques,” Ramos said.

A graduate of the Keller Graduate School of Management, Ramos is a member of the Project Management Institute.

“I´d like to congratulate Lena Ramos on this important step,” said Michelle LaBrosse, PMP, founder of Cheetah Learning and named one of the 25 Most Influential Women in Project Management in the World by PMI. “With all the challenges facing our country and our businesses, certified project managers can offer the skills and tools to make a difference,” she said, “but Cheetah CAPMs have an edge in learning how to achieve results quickly and effectively using our proprietary methods.”

Certified CAPMs´ grasp of the methodologies and tools of PMI streamlines each step in projects from planning and budgeting to implementation, monitoring and reporting. More and more public and private sector employers are requiring their project managers to obtain certification. PMI´s certification program maintains an ISO 9001 accreditation in quality management systems. ISO 9001 is an international standard that validates compliance with quality management processes and performance metrics.
