Norwalk, CT (PRWEB) January 16, 2013

Dr. Mark Leondires, Medical Director and Lead Infertility Doctor at Reproductive Medicine Associates of Connecticut (RMACT), and Dr. Shaun C. Williams, Fertility Specialist at RMACT, have been selected for Best Doctors in America 2013, a database of America´s premier doctors, as chosen through a peer-review process.

Best Doctors in America 2013 represents the top five percent of physicians across the country. For over 20 years, Best Doctors has conducted the largest, continuous, peer-to-peer survey of medical professionals with the intention of helping patients find the best experts for their medical needs. Assessment to be included in the roster includes current licensure, board certification and malpractice incidents, as well as an evaluation of each physicians´ research and published work.

“This is an exciting time to be working with infertility patients because recent advances in the reproductive field give us more tools and knowledge about men and women´s fertility,” said Dr. Leondires, Medical Director of RMACT. “Those advances make it possible to help more patients realize their dreams of having a family, and that is the most rewarding part of my career.”

Both Dr. Leondires and Dr. Williams are board certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology and Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility. They see patients at RMACT offices in Danbury, Norwalk and Stamford, as well as at affiliate New York fertility clinics serving Westchester, Putnam and Dutchess counties.

“I´m honored that my peers have included me in this prestigious list, especially because I respect their work and their opinions,” said Dr. Williams, fertility specialist with RMACT.

Dr. Leondires received his undergraduate degree in biochemistry and history from Colby College in Waterville, Maine. He earned his medical degree from the University of Vermont College of Medicine in Burlington, Vermont. He completed his residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Maine Medical Center in Portland, Maine, which was followed by a fellowship in Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility at the National Institutes of Health in Bethesda, Maryland. After completion of his training, he fulfilled his military obligation by serving as the Assisted Reproductive Technology (ART) Director for the largest and most successful program in the military health care system at Walter Reed Army Medical Center. His professional society memberships include the Society of Reproductive Endocrinologists, the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology, and the American Society for Reproductive Medicine.

Dr. Williams earned his undergraduate degree from University of Texas at Austin and went on to study medicine at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas, where he was part of the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society. He conducted his internship and residency at The University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center, where he received the Berlex Labs Resident Teaching Awards.
