DrugRisk Announces Launch of Stryker Hip Recall Resource Center

March 8, 2013

The Drug Risk Resource Center is the Web´s largest source for information on drug and medical device warnings, side effects and legal news. Visit http://www.DrugRisk.com

Orlando, FL (PRWEB) March 08, 2013

The medical device safety advocates at DrugRisk.com are alerting those patients who have been implanted with the Stryker Rejuvenate or ABG II modular hip implants of new information added to the site about the recall of these devices, as well as related safety studies and legal news.

“The goal of DrugRisk is to improve consumer safety by sharing the latest medical device warnings, recalls, studies and litigation news. The comprehensive Stryker hip database will allow current and former patients to discuss options with their doctor and decide if they need legal advice,” explains DrugRisk representative Ryan Mayer.

The resource center contains warnings from health experts with the British Medical Journal* and FDA**, as well as others, who warn that the toxic metal shavings from all-metal hips can have dangerous effects on tissue, bone and other organs when released into the body.

Researchers with the U.K.´s National Joint Registry of England and Wales have also warned that metal hips require revision surgery at three times the rate of traditional implants.***

DrugRisk has now added a recall by Stryker Orthopedics of the Rejuvenate and ABG II modular metal implants, due to these safety concerns.**** As part of the recall, Stryker has offered reimbursement for certain testing and surgery, and has hired a claims management company to attempt to resolve claims.****

However, the resource center cautions anyone affected by the recall that they should speak with a lawyer about their full legal rights before settling any claim with Stryker or deciding to take action.

DrugRisk has learned that, due to the number of patients expected to file a Stryker hip lawsuit, the claims have been consolidated to a special multi-district litigation court in New Jersey.*****

Anyone who is subject to the Stryker Rejuvenate or ABG II hip recall is urged to contact the DrugRisk Resource Center or speak with a lawyer about their legal rights as soon as possible.

Due to the specialized nature of MDL medical device injury cases, the DrugRisk only recommends lawyers and law firms who have already handled Stryker recall lawsuits.

For more information on the a possible Stryker hip recall, studies and litigation news related to Stryker or other metal hips, or to speak with a lawyer, visit http://www.DrugRisk.com.
