Agricultural products like coffee, wheat, jute and tea expected to see high volume trades.

(PRWEB) April 24, 2013

India has entered the class of fair trade markets, with the launch of Fair Trade India, a unit of EMarketz India Private Limited. This initiative will give fair trade certified suppliers and producers a platform to sell their goods to genuine buyers on reasonable prices. Keeping the international fair trade trends in mind, the company will focus on handicrafts and agricultural products. To start with, coffee, wheat, jute and tea will occupy a substantial chunk of the trade basket.

Launching the unit, Mr. Puneet Chadha, Director, said that a website http://www.fairtradeindia.net has been created to enable buyers connect with suppliers. The site will enlist a number of agricultural producers and suppliers, who have already been identified by the company. These producers have been issued the fair trade certificate and undertake production as per the fair trade standards. Even the suppliers deal in only those goods that meet the internationally accepted standard. The site, which will soon be functional, will give a prospective buyer the option of searching for goods by using the product name or company name.

Fair Trade India will give buyers a guarantee of the quality of products supplied. It will also make sure that the products that are ordered reach the buyers on time. The prices charged will also be as per the fair trade standards, to ensure that the producers get their due. Apart from agricultural produce, handicraft goods will also be sold through the site.
