Momentive Performance Materials Inc. (MPM), a global leader in specialty chemicals and materials, has selected SpecialChem’s Commercial Acceleration Solutions to support growth of its boron nitride (BN) powders for use in thermally conductive plastics. Recent innovations by MPM in Boron Nitride modifiers for use in thermally conductive plastics have opened new opportunities for thermal management solutions. The purpose of the collaboration is to educate the plastics market about the benefits of MPM’s Boron Nitride and to generate active projects at compounders, molders and original equipment manufacturers (OEMs).

MPM markets more than 70 grades of Boron Nitride under the trade names PolarTherm* and CoolFlow* and is introducing a new generation of hybrid Boron Nitride-based fillers under the tradename Cool FX* that can offer improved physical properties, processing and optimized cost. A viable alternative to aluminum, MPM’s BN-based modifiers can enable an excellent combination of thermal conductivity, electrical insulation and design freedom.
SpecialChem will support the execution of Momentive Performance Materials´ business development strategy for this new generation of hybrid fillers as well as its existing portfolio. Custom Commercial Acceleration Solutions have been designed to bring speed and market reach and act as an extended arm of the MPM business development team.
