Lab-Volt Systems, a leader in the design and manufacture of hands-on technical training laboratories, today announces that they were recently profiled in Quebec´s Le Soleil newspaper. The article, written by tech journalist Yves Therrien, profiles the staff and training methods employed by Lab-Volt at home and abroad.
Therrien spoke with Michel Lessard, executive vice president of operations at Lab-Volt, about the versatility of their training labs, and how the company has evolved since they got their start with electromechanical systems in 1959.
In addition to electro-mechanics training, Lab-Volt also accommodates training programs for telecommunications, radar systems, and microwave and radio communications. Lab-Volt also offers training on green and renewable energy systems.
“Today, we have a product line on renewable energy with wind turbine, solar, batteries and electric vehicles,” said Lessard.
The article placed a particular emphasis on the versatility of Lab-Volt´s training labs, which can be customized to accommodate nearly any training situation.
“Basically, all modules and training workstation have been designed much like LEGO blocks to adapt quickly to different situations for practical teaching,” said Lessard. “Depending on requirements, the workstation can be reconfigured with parts that are added on a perforated board while others may be stacked on top of each other.”
Lab-Volt training labs offer students and teachers a hands-on environment working with real equipment that has been scaled down for training purposes. For example, a radar system used in training might have a range of a few meters, whereas the range of a full-scale radar dish would be much higher.
In keeping with the versatility and adaptability of its training programs Lab-Volt offers its training materials in a number of different languages. The Lab-Volt instructional staff is also very comfortable using different languages, with French, Spanish and Arabic being spoken in addition to English.
It is this versatility that helps Lab-Volt to stand out amongst a very competitive field.
Lab-Volt is a global leader in the design and manufacture of hands-on training laboratories for public education, industry and the military. Lab-Volt is recognized as a world leader for high-quality, cost-effective instructional systems that integrate the latest technological advances with sound teaching practice, offering comprehensive, multimedia-rich, e-learning, blended learning, and custom learning solutions, as well as extensive, cutting-edge, hands-on and simulation training curriculum.
