Wine Point System Guide Released By Cellars Wine Club

June 16, 2013

Cellars Wine Club has released a guide about wine point systems and how to read them.

(PRWEB) June 16, 2013

In an effort to make wine drinking enjoyable for everyone, Cellars Wine Club informs in their latest article about the many points systems currently used for wine clubs. The Parker system, they say, is an established wine rating that rates from 50 points to 100 points. This wine scale progresses from “barely fit to drink” to “perfect”. Cellars Wine Club advises the use of wine rating systems only in partial, because wine judges may not appreciate what is liked by one’s own palate.

The article also makes the excellent observation that certain types of wine that are rated highly can share the same score, but be extremely different. This leads to an “apples to oranges” type rating problem that point systems may never truly solve. They contend that point systems, for new wine club members especially, can still be useful for those who don’t wish make a wine decision blindly.
