Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) to Launch in Japan

Scaled Agile, Inc. partners with OGIS-RI to bring SAFe training and certification to Japanese software developers.

Scaled Agile, Inc. (SAI) of Boulder, Colorado, USA, and OGIS-RI Co. Ltd, of Osaka, Japan, today announced that they have joined forces to formally launch SAI’s Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) in Japan.

SAI is a product, training, certification and professional services firm that helps companies scale adoption of Lean|Agile software development throughout the enterprise. OGIS-RI is a global information technology solutions provider that specializes in Agile software development, among other disciplines.

SAFe™ is a public-facing, interactive knowledge base for implementing the Agile software development methodology at enterprise scale. The Framework has been available to software developers in the United States since 2012.

The Japanese launch of SAFe, which will occur in January 2014, will be supported by several major events:

  •     Release of the Japanese Translation of the Scaled Agile Framework

  •     Dean Leffingwell to Speak at Regional Scrum Gathering

SAI Chief Methodologist and SAFe Developer Dean Leffingwell will give a talk entitled “Be Agile. Scale Up. Stay Lean. And Have More Fun.” on January 14 at the Regional Scrum Gathering in Tokyo. See http://www.ScrumGatheringTokyo.org/2014 for more information.

  •     “Leading SAFe” Class

With the support of OGIS-RI, Dean Leffingwell will deliver a two-day class entitled “Leading the Lean|Agile Enterprise with the Scaled Agile Framework”. The class, which takes place January 15-16 in Tokyo, will be simultaneously translated in Japanese. Click here to register.

  •     “SAFe Program Consultant” Certification Workshop

Dean Leffingwell will conduct the first-ever SAFe Program Consultant (SPC) Certification Workshop January 15-18 in Tokyo. The first two days of this workshop consist of the “Leading SAFe” class. The last two days are for SPC certification candidates only, and will include Implementing the Scaled Agile Framework and the certification exam. This class will be sequentially translated in Japanese. Click [here to register.

  •     Japanese Translation of Dean Leffingwell’s Most Recent Book

Leffingwell’s book entitled “Agile Software Requirements: Lean Requirements Practices for Teams, Programs, and the Enterprise” has been translated by Taku Fiji of OGIS-RI, and will be published by Shoeisha Co. Ltd. by February 2014.

  •     OGIS-RI to Provide Certified SAFe Training and Consulting

OGIS-RI will begin providing SAFe implementation consulting and training in Japan in 2014. OGIS-RI is translating Scaled Agile’s flagship two-day training course: “Leading the Lean|Agile Enterprise with the Scaled Agile Framework.” The company will be the exclusive provider of this course in Japan.
