Professor Pamela McCauley Bush to Serve as Grand Marshal at the 2013 University of Central Florida Commencement Ceremony
Heralded as an award-winning educator and engineering role model, Professor Pamela McCauley Bush is honored to serve as Grand Marshal at the University of Central Florida Fall 2013 Commencement Ceremony this Friday, December 13th. A full professor in the Department of Industrial Engineering and Management Systems at UCF where she leads the Human Factors in Disaster Management Research Team and directs the Ergonomics Laboratory, Professor Bush inspires and motivates students and professionals across the nation to pursue STEM education and successful STEM careers.

“Mr. President, the Fall 2013 Graduating Classes of the University of Central Florida’s College Business Administration, College of Engineering and Computer Science, College of Medicine, and College of Optics and Photonics are assembled” Grand Marshal Professor Pamela McCauley Bush will announce this Friday as she welcomes the audience to the Commencement Ceremony at the CFE Arena.
To date, more than 235,400 degrees have been awarded by the University of Central Florida, one of the nation’s leading metropolitan research universities. Professor Bush leads UCF's College of Engineering and Computer Science in the production of female and African American Ph.D. graduates.
Professor Bush has received numerous awards in recognition of her professional accomplishments including the prestigious Fulbright Specialist Award for her work on hand-held mobile devices and emergency management systems. She was the first African American female to receive a PhD in the State of Oklahoma and has been teaching at UCF for over twenty years. Dr. Bush is very active in community outreach efforts in the business, technology and education communities in addition to being an award-winning full professor, successful author and nationally recognized speaker.
Dr. Bush will be a keynote speaker at the Black Engineer of the Year Awards in Washington, D.C. February 6 – 8th, 2014. She is also scheduled to speak at Worcester Polytechnic Institute near the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) where she was a Martin Luther King, Jr. Visiting Professor of Aeronautics and Astronautics.
