Angerover Green Agency Delay
November 14, 2007
By Linda McKee
People are becoming frustrated at the delay in setting up an independent Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) to carry out this work, according to Tom Burke, chair of the recent Review of Environmental Governance (REGNI).
Mr Burke was speaking before a cross-party event at Stormont today, where Assembly members were urging the Executive to set up the EPA.
Assembly members Gerry Adams, David Ford, Tommy Gallagher and Danny Kennedy were to join Mr Burke at the event.
Mr Burke said the Department of the Environment would reassure many if it were at least to announce a timetable for its response to the REGNI.
