Britain Today: Lethal Jellyfish

NORTHERN Ireland’s only salmon farm has been wiped out by an astonishing jellyfish attack.

More than 100,000 fish worth more than pounds 1m died when they were hit by a huge invasion at Glenarm Bay and Red Bay, Cushendun, off the County Antrim coast.

Billions of small jellyfish known as mauve stingers were involved – stinging the salmon – covering a sea area of up to 10 square miles and 35ft deep.
