Beecher Carlson, the fastest growing commercial insurance brokerage in the country, announced today the expansion of its National Environmental Practice with the appointment of two seasoned industry veterans. Rick Craig joins as Senior Vice President and will lead Beecher Carlson's National Environmental Practice, and Kyle Strand joins as Senior Vice President. The team expansion increases Beecher Carlson's presence in San Francisco and expands its portfolio of quality services and specialized expertise for complex environmental risk management challenges.
Craig and Strand have structured, negotiated and placed hundreds of pollution liability, cost cap and environmental professional liability programs for a wide array of Fortune 500 companies and ENR 300 engineers, consultants and contractors. They have designed programs for notable Brownfield redevelopments, BRAC and other military base transfers, operational and legacy pollution liability transfers, single and portfolio real estate transactions and large construction projects.
Craig brings over seventeen years of environmental insurance, real estate and environmental consulting expertise to Beecher Carlson. He will be responsible for the leadership and expansion of Beecher Carlson's National Environmental Practice.
Prior to joining Beecher Carlson, Craig established and managed the Western Region Environmental Practice for Willis Insurance Group. He also served as the Environmental Practice Leader for Marsh's San Francisco office. Craig received his Bachelor of Science degree from Boston College. He has completed graduate courses in Hazardous Materials Management and is active in many environmental and real estate associations.
Leveraging his seventeen years of experience in underwriting, environmental consulting and contracting, Strand will drive all aspects of environmental insurance placement and servicing for Beecher Carlson. His responsibilities include environmental risk analysis, insurance program design, marketing, contract negotiation and long term account management.
Strand joins Beecher Carlson from Liberty International Underwriters (LIU) where he established the Western Region environmental office in San Francisco in connection with the Liberty/Quanta Renewal Rights Agreement. Prior to LIU, Strand served as the Western Region Manager for Quanta Environmental and worked as a Senior Underwriter for Chubb Environmental Solutions. Strand earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Arkansas. He has also taken graduate level courses in environmental site assessment and remediation.
"We are extremely excited to have Rick and Kyle on the team," said Steve Denton, Chief Operating Officer for Beecher Carlson.
