Cyber-Rain Announces Holiday Discount on Smart Irrigation System

Posted on: Tuesday, 4 December 2007, 09:00 CST

Los Angeles-based Cyber-Rain (www.cyber-rain.com) today announced that it is offering a holiday incentive on its Cyber-Rain XCI product, a smart irrigation system that gives homeowners, property managers, building owners and landscape contractors an easy way to save 30-70 percent on their landscape watering bills by using the ease and convenience of the personal computer. While most sprinkler control systems on the market today rely on timers to regulate watering schedules, the Cyber-Rain system automatically adjusts watering levels based on automatic local weather updates from the Internet. This saves water, time, plant replacement costs and reduces pollution-causing runoff by stopping sprinkler systems on rainy days, automatically decreasing the watering schedule on cold or humid days, and increasing it on hot and dry days.

By using the power of personal computers to wirelessly control sprinkler systems, Cyber-Rain enables users to program watering schedules, set reminders for when to fertilize, and even measure water savings through an easy to use intuitive interface without ever needing to visit their garage. Cyber-Rain can be installed by anyone in minutes with no special tools or skills.

"Rapidly escalating water prices and newly enacted legislation is driving the demand for these types of technologies," says CEO Matt Ridenour. "In an era of chronic droughts and water shortages, it is imperative for businesses and homeowners to manage their use of water. Cyber-Rain is leading the way in providing technologies that not only save money for users, but also provide a tangible way to protect the environment. We are offering this 20 percent seasonal discount as a way to encourage those who may be considering a water-saving smart controller sprinkler system an incentive to start the New Year conserving water, time and money."

Nationally, homeowners with traditional controllers spend more than $1,500 a year in water costs, using an average of 7500 gallons of water per month to irrigate their landscaping. As much as 70 percent of that water is wasted in pollution causing runoff. Matching the amount of water used to the local weather conditions conserves water, reduces pollution and saves money. The system, which costs $349 and now $280 with the 20 percent holiday discount, usually pays for itself in a few months and is available at www.cyber-rain.com and select retailers.
