Inficon Receives Hapsite Order From SEPA of China
Inficon, a provider of process control software for the semiconductor and vacuum-coating industries, has received an order from the State Environmental Protection Administration of the People’s Republic of China for its Hapsite Chemical Identification System.
Commencing in the first quarter of 2008, Inficon will ship 38 Hapsites and accessories to State Environmental Protection Administration (SEPA) for environmental monitoring in major provinces and cities throughout China.
Hapsite Chemical Identification System, a fully man-portable gas chromatograph/mass spectrometer (GC/MS), was developed using Inficon expertise in gas-sensing and vacuum technology. It provides fast, on-scene detection and analysis of toxic chemicals in air, soil and water, confirming the presence of chemical threats in high-risk situations. The company has sold these products to US and other military organizations worldwide, state and city governments, and to private and public sector customers for emergency response, security, industrial hygiene and other environmental applications.
Lukas Winkler, president and chief executive officer of Inficon, said: “This significant new order from SEPA illustrates the effectiveness of Hapsite for important environmental applications and our continuing momentum in this marketplace. Its superior performance exceeded other products’ in a highly competitive process. We are pleased to support SEPA in carrying out its mission of ecological conservation and pollution prevention.”
