Dec. 26–Culinary chapter elects ’08 leaders
The Myrtle Beach Chapter of the American Culinary Federation recently elected its 2008 leaders.
The group is dedicated to the culinary education of chefs, culinary students and its members in the Grand Strand area.
The following folks will hold office:
President: Steve Martin, executive chef at Ciao! Italian Restaurant in Myrtle Beach
Vice president: Ann Shipman, Halpern’s Purveyors of Steak and Seafood in Myrtle Beach
Secretary: Becky Billingsley, owner of MyrtleBeach

Membership chairperson: Liane Dart, Dinner Escapes in Myrtle Beach

Sweet potato recipe contest
Oh, how sweet it is.
Folks, I’m talking about sweet potatoes, and you can prove your potatoes are the best in a recipe contest being sponsored by The N.C. Sweet Potato Commission.
The Get Fresh with N.C. Sweet Potato Recipe Contest will award one $500 prize for each winner in four categories (soup, salad, side and sweet), and a grand prize winner will get $3,000.
