Hartindo AF31 Aquatic Toxicity Test Results Announced

Megola Inc. (PINKSHEETS: MGOA), in collaboration with MSE Enviro-Tech Corp. (PINKSHEETS: MEVT) (FRANKFURT: MEH), is pleased to announce the results of aquatic toxicity testing for the Hartindo AF31 Fire Extinguishing and Inhibiting Agent. The results show that all three of the AF31 formulations tested can be considered relatively harmless (LC50 > 1000 ppm) for typical use concentrations according to the United States Fish and Wildlife Service toxicity rating scale.
Daphnia magna 48-hour LC50 and Rainbow Trout 96-hour LC50 toxicity tests were conducted by Pollutech EnviroQuatics, Ltd. (www.pollutechgroup.com) in Pt. Edward, Ontario. These are standardized tests designed to assess the potential effects of a substance entering an aquatic environment.
Three different formulations of AF31 were tested, each used in different fire situations with different dispersal equipment. As with many fire extinguishing agents, AF31 has the potential to reach ground and surface water sources after its deployment outdoors. Thus, it is important to show that the lengthy and costly clean-up efforts and negative environmental impacts that are considerations with other extinguishing agents can be avoided with use of AF31.
"We already know that AF31 is readily biodegradable and contains no persistent toxic chemicals or by-products. Now, through the results of these acute toxicity tests, we have shown that AF31 will not pose a significant threat to the environment in the event that it finds its way into surface or ground water sources after its use in a fire fighting situation," states Michael Gardner, Environmental Scientist at Megola Inc.
