Recycle Your Cards

January 4, 2008
Repost This

WITH Twelfth Night approaching, people are being urged to remember the environment.

Throughout January people can take Christmas cards to the Washington Wetland Centre for recycling.

Bosses at the nature reserve hope visitors will do their bit for the planet and bring their cards with them when they go to see the birds and wildlife at the centre. The centre, one of nine in the UK owned by the Wildfowl and Wetlands Trust, has 45 hectares of grounds, home to hundreds of bird, insect, amphibian and plant species.

Elsewhere the Woodland Trust and national recycling campaign Recycle Now are aiming to collect enough used cards to raise the money to plant 24,000 trees in the UK.
