Wildlands, Inc., the nation’s leading mitigation banking company, today announced that Dan Kominek has been promoted to Vice President of Land Management.

Kominek oversees habitat stewardship, agricultural production, and tenant relations for over 25,000 acres of protected open space. His focus on integrated conservation and agriculture maximizes the landscapes’ habitat values while maintaining local farming and ranching traditions. Wildlands’ agricultural activities range from cattle grazing, specially managed to promote habitat values for California grassland ecosystems, to production of alfalfa, walnuts, and wheat.

“Dan’s diverse agricultural background has proven to be a valuable asset to our organization,” said Steve Morgan, Chief Executive Officer and founder of Wildlands. “As we advance our land holdings, our land portfolio will be in great hands with Dan and the excellent staff he has assembled.”

Kominek came to Wildlands in 2004 from his position as Animal Resource Manager for the University of California at Davis. Kominek holds a B.S. degree in Animal Science from UC Davis in addition to his 22 years working for the University.
